Give tofu the treatment it deserves with little effort thanks to this air fried tofu recipe. The resulting dish is crispy, sweet, and savory, and is perfect as a snack or atop a bowl of rice and veggies for a complete meal.

 


The key here is to drain the tofu and press it to get as much moisture out as possible before it goes into the air fryer. Then, it’s all about the glaze, featuring Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Sauce as the sweet and umami-packed base with a hit of acidity from Seasoned Rice Vinegar. We used potato starch to ensure a crackly exterior when eating.

How to make it

  1. Wrap your drained tofu in a few layers of paper towels and weigh down with something heavy. This will drain the tofu even further over the course of ten minutes.
  2. In the meantime, combine potato starch and salt and pepper to taste in a bowl. Unwrap and pat dry the tofu, then cut into ¾ inch cubes and toss in the potato starch mixture until fully coated. Shake off any excess starch.
  3. Set your air fryer to 375˚ Fahrenheit. Spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray and add the tofu. Spray the tofu with more cooking spray and cook in the air fryer for 10 minutes. Shake the air fryer basket and cook for another 10 minutes.
  4. In a small sauce pan on medium heat, combine the brown sugar, Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Sauce, Premium Soy Sauce, and Seasoned Rice Vinegar. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the crispy tofu to a large clean bowl and pour the glaze over it. Toss to coat, transfer to a plate, and serve garnished with thinly sliced green onion. Squeeze the lime juice from the lime wedges over the crispy tofu and enjoy!
