Have you ever used oyster sauce before when making steak? If not, give this marinated Asian steak recipe a go on your next steak night, as it’s simple yet packed with a ton of flavor thanks to the oyster sauce marinade.
Using Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce means you’re maximizing on the umami flavor that permeates and seasons the steak during the marinade process. Finished simply on the grill or in a pan, the oyster sauce is the only flavor you need to turn a steak into something magical.
For serving, we recommend fresh vegetables – we used charred corn for this recipe as it can grill the same time as the steak, making cooking easy and efficient.
Coat your steaks in Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce, then marinate in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. The longer it marinates, the more the flavor penetrates.
Preheat your grill or a frying pan to medium high heat and brush with oil. While it’s heating, you can brush your corn pieces with more oil and season to taste.
Grill or sear the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium rare. Adjust for your desired cooking temperature as needed. Remove from heat and let rest for at least 5 minutes.
If you have space, grill the corn next to the steaks, otherwise, char in a clean pan or on the grill while the steaks are resting.
Slice your steak against the grain into even pieces and transfer to a serving plate. Add fresh parsley and a wedge of lime, and garnish with extra Premium Oyster Sauce if desired. Serve with the corn pieces, either on or off the cob depending on your preference.
