Spice up your chicken skewer recipe game with this air fryer bang bang chicken recipe, made simple with Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo, Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, and Oyster Sauce.

 

Starting with a simple chicken marinade that packs a ton of flavor, you then finish the skewers off by brushing them with the Bang Bang sauce. Sweet, spicy, creamy, and packed with tons of flavor, this will be a meal prep recipe to enjoy with lettuce wraps, rice bowls, cucumber salad, or any other side for a simply and tasty meal!

How to make it

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine all marinade ingredients. Whisk until smooth. Add chicken pieces and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour (overnight = max flavor).
  2. Assemble the skewers: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20–30 minutes. Thread 3–4 marinated chicken pieces per skewer.
  3. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: Combine Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo, Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, Rice Vinegar, brown sugar, and spices in a mixing bowl. Set aside for brushing and serving. 
  4. Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Place skewers in a single layer in the basket (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.

    Optional: Brush with a little extra marinade (not used on raw chicken) or drizzle leftover Bang Bang sauce on top for a glossy finish.

  5. Serve and Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped parsley or green onions. Serve with lettuce wraps, rice bowls, or cucumber salad.
